Christmas Star Ornaments

I am finally posting! Yeah! I decided to make a tradition to make Christmas Tree Ornaments every year. This year I found a great idea to make stars out of popsicle sticks and different things. I decided to make it more simple since my girls are still pretty young. We painted the sticks then glued them together in a start shape and then they squeezed glitter glue on them. We drilled a hole in them and put some fishing wire through the whole to hang them on the tree.

PEANUT TURKEY

You will Need:

• 1 Peanut
• 1 Maple leaf
• 1 small red leaf
• a pair of scissors
• a black permanent marker
• orange play dough
• a hot glue gun

1. begin by cutting the stem of your leaf in half to make two legs for your turkey.
2. glue the small red leaf on the top half of the peanut. Shape a small amount of orange play dough into a beak and glue it onto the top of the red leaf.
3. Use a marker to make eyes above the beak and glue the peanut to the large maple leaf.

Thankful Tree

We have made one of these every year for the past 4 years. Fun and simple, and the kids totally love doing it! All that is needed is construction paper of your choice in color (my boys wanted pink this year...don't ask me why!), someone who can cut a tree out of 3 pieces of paper taped together, and leaves cut out of various colors. We then use a black marker and write on each leaf different things we are thankful for. The kids like to go over these at least once a week (more like every other day) and point out which ones are theirs. Have fun!

Rice Crispy turkeys:

My Mom made some cute rice crispy turkeys with Gwen and her cousins yesterday. after mixing everything together for the rice crispy treats she gave each kid a pile of the mixture for them to shape into a body, a bunch of carrot sticks to use for feathers, 2 M & M's for the eyes and a candy corn for the nose. It was a great free form thing for the 2 year olds to do because they could easily push the body parts into the rice crispy treat mixture.

Just skip the 3rd step in the recipe.
